FreeRunners – Encounter 2015 Info

The Fall 2015 Shanghai City-Wide retreat is sponsored and planned by the following International Christian Youth Communities in Shanghai, China:

SOAR 24/7 led by Kenny Ly
Journey led by Rob Pritz and Shanghai West International Fellowship
Anchor led by Sandra Westerdahl and International Church of Shanghai
REFLECT led by Cameron Huckabee and Shanghai Community Fellowship
KG led by Andrew Feng and Thanksgiving English Fellowship
Retreat Director – Scott Loewen

Our Purpose:
These five communities base their faith in the teachings of Jesus Christ and use the Bible as their primary source of teaching. We the Youth Pastors of Shanghai, together seek God to bring about His purpose amongst the youth of this city. Our unified desire is to relay the message of Jesus Christ and the Power of God to Shanghai’s international youth.

Our Theme Verse:
Psalms 119:32 “I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.”
Each session will be delivered from God’s Word. We hope and pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to the youth through His Word. We desire each youth to leave the retreat blessed with the Holy Spirit who has made the Scriptures come alive. A practical goal is that the youth will be equipped with methods of how to study Scripture providing them with greater opportunities to know God through His Word.
God’s Word, His Commands, serve as our life pathways. We can run in them daily living in freedom and growing in greater understanding of God our Father.

Your Role:
You can best serve us by your earnest prayers and intentional communication. Please pray for the youth, that they may know God. Please communicate with us any concerns you may have, not only in regards to logistics but anything concerning your child. We are here for you and we care about the parents as much as we do the youth.

We also believe that the parents play one of the most important roles in the spiritual growth of the youth. We desire to partner with you, encourage and equip you with the necessary tools needed to serve as a catalyst for spiritual growth within your own family.
